West Texas Night Sky, big and still

The sky above us is magical, the light pollution is not. I painted this from Canyon Valley, Texas. I started to get interested in the Dark Sky movement when I learned how many birds migrate through Texas, according to BirdCast nearly two billion will migrate through Texas, https://birdcast.info/science-to-action/lights-out/lights-out-texas/ we owe it to our innate connection with the sky beyond earth, and we owe it to the creatures we share this planet with to protect the night sky.
